Frequently Asked Questions

Comprehensive Answers for Your Guidance

  • Why choose Aim Behavioral Health?

We provide comprehensive psychiatric and addiction care, with specialization in treatment-resistant depression using Spravato. We've been serving the Ashland Tri-State community since 2014, guided by a board-certified psychiatrist and addiction medicine specialist, with a caring and knowledgeable team.

  • Do I need a referral?

No. You can schedule an appointment directly without a referral. If you've been referred by another provider, we're happy to coordinate care with them.

  • What should I expect at my first appointment?

Describe the item or answer the question so that site visitors who are interested get more information. You can emphasize this text with bullets, italics or bold, and add links.
  • Do you offer telehealth?

Your first appointment is always in person. After that, we offer telehealth options for psychiatric follow-ups and can accommodate some addiction treatment appointments via telehealth when it meets the needs of our patients.

  • Do you accept walk-ins?

Scheduled appointments help minimize wait times, and we can typically see you within a few days. We are able to accept walk-ins on most Mondays through Thursdays.

  • What ages do you treat?

    We treat adults only.

  • Do you prescribe controlled substances for ADHD and anxiety?

Yes. For ADHD, we prescribe both stimulant and non-stimulant medications and believe in optimizing treatment to help you function at your best. For anxiety, we do not use benzodiazepines (such as Ativan, Klonopin, Valium, Xanax) as a first-line treatment and will not prescribe them at the initial appointment unless it's a continuation of an existing prescription.

  • Can I get a second opinion or continue seeing my therapist?

Yes. If you're currently seeing another psychiatrist and want a second opinion, we can help. If you're working with a therapist you'd like to continue seeing, we're happy to coordinate—you can see us for medication management while continuing therapy with your current provider.
